Citizens of USA: why do you call Independence Day 4th of July the same way as the British and not your normal July 4th format. ?

We have it in writing as a founding document called the 'Declaration of Independence' which was finalized and publicized on July 4, 1776 by our Continental Congress. That was still a few years before Queen Nancy started trying to impeach Trump for making phone calls and tweeting his personal opinions. 

I don't know but that's a good question
