Is Vancouver a good city for expats to live in?

Vancouver is a beautiful city,, and very diverse, with huge numbers of East, and South Asians amongst others.  It is one of my favourite cities, and if I had to live in a city, it would be my first choice.

HOWEVER, it is very expensive!  Houses are over a million dollars now, closing in on two.  Land is very precious there, so you pay a lot for a piece of it.  It is one of the most expensive  cities in Canada, and even one of the most in the world due to this.  Also, it is super popular, so available places that are anywhere near decent are snapped up very quickly.

It is if you can afford it. The cost of living there is high though.

Vancouver has a vibe probably suitable to Seattle, Portland and San Francisco.  But probably very different than the vibe in Dallas or Boston.
