Am I in the wrong?

I’m a barista at starbucks, and I started 7 months ago but I transferred to a new starbucks not too long. My old manager is a bit different than my new manager. In the beginning of last month, I requested Tuesdays and Thursdays off started feb 16 due to school, but she still scheduled me on the 18th when she approved my request. I emailed my manager letting her know, and she sounded annoyed and said that she told me to never text her or email her about these matters and to call the store or talk to her in person. I only did so because I don’t know her schedule. Last time I emailed her was about giving me more hours, which I admit I should’ve talked to her in person, but this was just to correct a mistake since I didn’t want to let her know too late. My old manager didn’t have a problem with emails or texts, This manager has been known to be inefficient, which is what my coworkers have told me. She tricks ppl into coming in when they don’t have to, and she discriminated my friend for her adhd and fired her for not being fast enough when she has only worked for less than 3 weeks.

Update:

I don’t want to make things awkward at work but it’s annoying when I’m always being lectured. At my old store, I worked over 20 hrs and I would cover shifts very frequently.

Update 2:

And yes my friend did ask to be accommodated for her adhd. My manager mentioned her adhd and got mad at her when she requested some time off due to a change in her medication. She told her that she didn’t even have to tell her she had anxiety cuz it’s written all over her.

Update 3:

And when I say she tricks ppl, I mean she asked my coworkers to come in and when they did, they were told they didn’t need to work

Your new manager has told you how to communicate with her.  Not everyone has a reliable phone or gets on their computer hourly to check it.

No she doesn't trick people,  the schedule is set, this is a business not a club.  Either adapt or leave.  You'll find that each place is different,  they ALL are run in different ways.
