My car started steaming from under the hood after reving hard when stuck in ice? Will it be OK?
I was able to get unstuck from the ice at the curb and was able to get home. The engine smells fine and looks fine.

Engine DEAD COLD, open the hood and check coolant. Coolant is good, start car and check if the car overheats. Good luck.

No. Steaming is a sign of overheated coolant that escaped from a closed system.

It might've just been ice/water spraying up on your exhaust pipe/manifold.
Or you might've destroyed your engine - and risked setting your car on fire.
No way of knowing from where I'm sitting.

LOL. This remeinds me of the news blip from a couple days ago. A guy got stuck nose in a ditch, revved the hell out of it trying to get out. The cops told him they called a tow truck but he lost his marbles. After revving it too much it caught fire and he burned to death.
You sound just about as stupid as that guy

Might want to pop the hood, get out of the car and see what is steaming - or turn in your man card. Either one!
