Is Giotto's Lamentation idealistic?

Hi, I was wondering if Giotto's lamentation was idealistic, naturalistic, or realistic? If so, why?

In the context of the time, it was naturalistic.  Most artists "idealize" their subjects in one way or another-- they are not totally realistic -- but Giotto developed a naturalistic approach that had not previously been seen.

That was the whole point. Please: READ your textbook and class notes; STUDY the actual works.  They will answer your questions.
