About the word "Ivory, tusk"?

Does the word "Ivory (Ex : Antique hand painted miniature portrait on ivory)" always mean it's made it out of "Elephant tusk"? or other animal's bone ??

No,  walrus ivory was often used by people like the Vikings.

Ivory is hard dentine; elephant tusks are the same material, so technically, any teeth from mammals (including humans) can be called ivory. Bones are not as hard or as useful and hence are not referred to as ivory.
