Need help with a flight to the Philippines on the 1st of March?

I am a Filipino nurse that has been working in the UK for more than a year now. My annual leave to visit the Philippines has been pushed back many times because of this pandemic. Some friends have booked a flight to the Philippines in March and have convinced me to do the same.

I am now booked a flight with Qatar Airways on the 1st of March. But I do have some concerns about my check-in though.Does Qatar Airways require a negative RT-PCR test prior to departure in order to check-in? Will they check if I have a negative result? I can always get a test done but I'd like to ask around first especially that they do the test 72 hours prior to the actual flight and I have to go there by train and come back home.I have read on their FAQs that they do need a negative RT-PCR result for specific countries, but not in the UK. But I want to be sure as the information is easily updated. It's such a hassle but I am willing to do it. I just want to make sure that though, otherwise, it would be a waste of time and money to have the test done only to find out during check-in that they don't require it.If anyone has traveled these past few days, will travel, or know someone who will travel, can someone please answer my question? I would greatly appreciate it.I have tried calling QAs customer service and it's always busy. I've been on the line for literally more than 3 hours and no one answered.Thank you for your help.

Ask Qatar what the situation is. Their website should tell you. Also check with Manila airport and the government site for information for arriving passengers. You might have to quarantine in Manila. Also check that you can get out of Manila to your province. Things change all the time.

bluebellbkk is spot on, this is just fluff... We just traveled Feb 2, on Turkish, and THEIR own info changed 2 or 3 days before our flight. We had to RUSH a COVID test of a particular type into our DEPARTURE date. So you CAN'T depend on any info being correct.

THINGS MAY CHANGE AFTER 28 FEB.

Anything anyone tells you today could easily be out of date by tomorrow, and again and again before you actually fly.

Qatar remain the ONLY people you should listen to, even if they can't tell you anything definite yet. Persevere, and write down whatever they tell you.

But surely they have a website?

Personally I wouldn't be risking a flight this close because of the various checks and tests you have to do before travelling. If you do have to go then you could consider staying at the Sofitel Heathrow which includes a proper covid test which you can do at the hotel and the results are usually there by the next day. For more information you should consult the UK government travel page and the Philippines one to. To ensure you are complying with the rules. I'm not sure but you may have to take a test on your return and self isolate for a minimum period so ensure you have got that sorted
