Yes. Your wife is a licensed registered nurse - https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20210... Put the vehicle in her name with you as a second driver. I am confused, though. You pay $1700 per month???
Pardon my math but that would be $20,400 per year!!
You need to do some field research.
Go visit some insurance agents and have a talk with them.
I'm curious what kind of driving record you have?

Only an insurance agent can tell you that with any degree of certainty. Quotes are free. Call and get one dumbdum.

At 21 years old I'd say you're paying way too much for liability insurance alone. Even if you have a couple of DUI's that's too much to pay. I recommend you find a car insurance agent and ask them to quote you from Progressive and see what the rates are. I'll bet it's below $600/month.

Buy a little 1000lb trailer and put a hitch on the Focus. Save a shitload of money and do the same job.......sans picking up redneck chicks.

$1700 per month? That works out to $20,400 per year. This cannot be right. If you had to pay such premiums you would be better being self-insured.
