I feel like I have ADHD, but I’m not sure. ?
Hello, my name is Eren and I’m currently a senior in high school. Through out my life I always felt that I was dumb and lazy, but I never really cared too much about it until now. I remember my mom telling me recently when I was elementary that they wanted to put me in special Ed classes, because I didn’t want to learn anything and also that I always wanted to stay home. I feel like that still carries on to this day but not as bad. I still go to school, but I end up not really paying attention and I just get distracted. I don’t really learn anything and I really hate that. I procrastinate and not finish projects. Sometimes I get so motivated to do something but then a couple days later I start to get lazy. For example I love doing art and I always get excited to start on a new project, but then suddenly not finish it. I have trouble explaining things and pronouncing words. Sometimes people say I’m dumb and childish because I don’t know basic knowledge or act immature. Maybe I’m overthinking it, but I’ve been trying to make myself better. I don’t know what’s wrong with me and I get so mad. What should I do? Please help and thank you.

Hi, first off, sorry to hear that you've struggled a bit in school. Based off what you said here you don't seem dumb or stupid. I think if you feel that you might have ADHD the first step would to be diagnosed by a professional. Asking your mom to take you to a therapist or a psychiatrist would be the first step into knowing. Asking people on the internet that barely know you isn't gonna give you a proper diagnosis. You need to see someone who is professionally trained so you can find a course of action if you are diagnosed.
Also, your lack of motivation doesn't necessarily point toward ADHD there might be other problems. I think in my opinion the best way of getting through this is to get professional help. I know it's hard, but if you feel something is off you should really talk to someone about it.
