Do you have a long-haired cat who spits up quite a bit?

How often does that happen for you?

My cat has been spitting up a lot. Hairballs every couple of months or so. But a little more difficulty with food.

Just looking for a little comparison. Thanks.

Update:

Thank you. You don't know how much better this makes me feel.

Of course.  All cats have hairballs.  It's part of the entry requirements.  We all know that going in.  And longhairs have more hair, and therefore more hairballs.  Even more annoying is when the cat binge-eats (she doesn't do this super-often, but it's more often than I'd like) and then barfs the not quite digests results out.

How often?  I have two long hairs and it's not like they're on a regular schedule.  Sometimes I get as much as 3 or 4 barfs in a week, sometimes none.  I don't really count or average them.  This isn't a data point I feel compelled to track.

I buy the science diet hairball control food when I can, but my pet store is often out of them.  That definitely helps with the actual hairballs, but I don't find it helps with the binge-eater.
