Birth control?

I’ve been debating on asking my doctor about starting birth control to help my periods, but I’m worried about side affects or risks. I just wanted to hear some opinions on if it’s worth it and if any of you have had serious problems from taking it. Thanks in advance!

No issues at all on the Pill.

The birth control pill is safe if you have no underlying health problems and have not had issues with blood clots. Talk to your doctor about your concerns. Millions and millions of women around the world are on birth control pills- they'd have been taken off the market if there were widespread bad effects. It's easier on your body than repeated pregnancies.

I was on the pill for 35+ years, and my only initial problem I had was break-through bleeding on the lower dose pill.  My doctor took it up to the next higher strength and I had absolutely no issues for all of those years.   Zero side effects.  Of course that was back when "the pill" was much higher strength.  They have diluted the hormone level quite a bit over the years.
