Maybe your friend meant to say happy birthday and she got distracted? Or maybe she just didn't feel like wishing you a happy birthday at the time. We don't know what other people are going through from moment to moment.

Sounds like you may have issues with self confidence. People can get very attached to their photos being liked and having replies. If they don't get them they naturally thing that something is wrong. People can just see your life without having to comment. I personally find it frustrating that on facebook you have to make the effort with 100s of people saying happy birthday and then they say it back over and over. Year by year. Just because they don't say it doesn't mean they don't care.
