What things did you miss from the USA while stationed in the middle east? ?
My son is being sent to the middle east ... as a combat medic... me and the wife are trying to put together a plan for some meaningful "care packages ".... so while stationed in Afghanistan, Syria, etc... what did you miss the most, that you couldn't get at the px?

One of the most sought after items in the Middle East, is actually Wet Wipes.
In smaller, easier to carry , mini paks.....as they will have 100 uses , you can't even imagine in real life, but to soldiers in the desert, they are a god send.

He’ll likely have access to all the creature comforts. About the only thing he may crave/ miss are local items
Regardless, until he tells/ asks you for something, don’t send it. He won’t have storage space. Plus there are many things he’s not even allowed to have in country

Wait until he gets there and settles in a bit so he can tell you what is missing. Every place offers different things and has different conditions. Always include extra for the people he is working with as sometimes they do not get things When you do send packages make sure they are the flat rate ones for military and you do NOT put the country he is in on it. Just the FPO/APO for the city and AP, AA, or AE for state. They go through US Post only. You will have to fill out a customs form though. Never send things like chocolate when it is really hot or things that melt. Whenever I sent packages to friends I would send the following
Individual drink mixes
Seasonings
Individual tea/coffee
Snacks
Cookies
Candy
Insta Noodles
Gum
Chapstick
Wet wipes (small packs to fit in pockets)
Sunblock
Socks
Frisbees
Nerf guns
Water guns
Silly putty
Books (see if your library sells them for cheap, even romance books are a hit, they will pass them along)
DVDs
Cards
Greeting cards (so they could send them home to family)
Paper/envelopes
Pens
Coloring book/pencil crayons
Comic books
Puzzles
Screwdriver
Screws/nails
Command/3M hooks various sizes
Photos of all sorts of things
Drawings from kids
