If a tow company took my car but can't find it what can I do.?

I walked outside to my car gone. My neighbor has a camera and it shows a tow truck pick it up. I am legally parked and have no lien. I call the city they don't have it. I called the tow company and they claim they never took it. What can I do now.

You call the police and report your car stolen and that your neighbor has a video recording of the last time it was seen. They'll handle it from there and you give the police report number to your insurance company.

unless you can identify WHO towed it, report it stolen.  There is no world wide rule requiring tow companies to notify PD.  Deductibles vary and you only get the value, not really an actual 'new' car.

    You report the car stolen.

There are exactly 2 possible scenarios here.

    1. The tow truck WAS NOT from the company you called.

    2. The company actually stole your car, and lied to you.

You call the police they are required by law to be notified when there's a tow. Report the car is stolen and claim it on your insurance. If there is no record of the car being towed then how wonderful for you I certainly hope you have good insurance it'll be nice to get a new car minus the $500 deductible I certainly hope you actually have insurance
