Does life become more sad and depressing after you make more money?
I feel like I was a lot happier when I was younger and had nothing. I didn't have to worry about anything except what I was doing in the moment. I was living for each day, I always thought that having lots of money would solve all my problems. Now that I have it, I feel as though I'm carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. Pressed suits and new cars aren't cheap to maintain, I feel like I'm a prisoner to my own success. What have I gotten myself into?

Material things are necessary and useful. However, we will surely be disappointed if we begin to imagine that real security and happiness result from them. The wise man Solomon wrote: “The wealth of the rich is his fortified city; it is like a protective wall in his imagination.” (Prov. 18:11)
When a person maintains a balanced view of money—regarding it as a means to an end rather than an end in itself—it is possible to enjoy a greater measure of contentment. The Bible warns that “the love of money is a root of all sorts of injurious things, and by reaching out for this love some have . . . stabbed themselves all over with many pains.”—1 Timothy 6:10.
Note that it is the love of money—not money itself—that brings harm. Indeed, an inordinate focus on money can drive a wedge between friends and between family members

I see what you mean. I too got a bit of money a couple of years ago and now it is about all gone. Whew what a ride. I am not even sure how it went or got to where it is now. It was all too fast. Never had I had so much money. Wow. You may not be free until you run out. I don't know when that will happen. It may never happen. Is that a bad thing?

Yes. I experienced the same emotions whenever I realized I no longer had immediate money problems and started worrying about losing everything.
It seems our minds must have something to focus on. If we don't manage this focus, it can be destructive.
As others have already stated, money doesn't bring happiness. For me, being able to do things for others, and actually doing them, brings joy and contentment to my life and state of mind. I am in no way wealthy, but I have a little extra and give to charities and others when I see a need that I can help with.
Being generous doesn't have to be "showing off" but can be fun when it is appropriate. Gifting to fill a need for someone is awesome.
I don't know if these ideas will help you, but they definitely do help me to be happy. Find what makes you happy and keep your focus there for the most part.
Good luck.

We are responsible for our own happiness. It is a state of mind. Money cannot buy happiness, you have probably heard this many times.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. After working and struggling to finally get ahead, there are lots of circumstances that take it all away instantly. They say anyone can make money,it takes real talent to avoid having it taken away. So,yes, having more brings on worry and danger.

I won't know.
I guess having money means you have a house, car and everything.
It makes no difference.
Everyone is different.

Well, to put it simple... Money can be useful to have, but it's no way near a key to happiness. Get your priorities sorted.
