Jpeg are compressed format files. Their size differ even if they are coming from the same camera. Since different cameras also have different resolutions and therefore different file sizes, it is difficult to figure out how many files can be head in a 2TB hard drive. Besides, it is currently cheaper (per TB) to buy a large capacity hard drive, and it will keep getting cheaper, just don't worry about it. A 5TB hard drive for example may be good enough for you to take lots of pictures without ever worrying about filling it up.

Here's a calculator to figure out the number of images that can fit on various card sizes.  The calculator doesn't have a 2TB setting, so you'll need to do a little math: http://memorycardcalculator.com/index.html

Which camera? What's the resolution of the images?  These variables must be known to provide a reasonably accurate answer.

Compression Level:  Depending upon how the level of compression, you'll get more or less images on a hard drive.

I would suggest first determine the camera.  Then look at the owner's manual for that camera.  In the manual, it will usually have a section explaining the number of shots that can fit on any size of card.

Because of the unknowns within your question, it's not possible to provide an answer no matter how large the ball park.

However, I can give you some examples; after all there aren't a lot of resolution levels available.

My camera produces JPEG files around 10MB. Thus, around 200k images. However, JPGs I post are generally in the 200kB size, so around  10M images.

"Even if it's a large ball park."

It's too large!  Nikon D850 jpegs are around 23MB while a cropped and compressed image for the web could be a small fraction of that.  Without knowing what sort of images you want to store it's impossible to give a meaningful answer.

That would depend on the size of the pictures.

For example, one random JPEG pic I have copied from the Internet is 161 KB.

But, pics my digital camera takes come out to between 5 and 8 MB.

So, for every one 5 MB pic, you could store thirty 161 KB pics.
