Why does HSN spell spendable ka$h that way?

If I own HSN I would change it to spendable cash ASAP.

    Marketing. Trademark.

It's just a GIFT CARD. nothing else.

    Only usable at HSN.

They do that because it is not actual cash.  It is a credit you can use only with them.  If you buy and then return items, you do not get cash.

It's a marketing thing.  Also, they may be able to copyright their spelling so that nobody else can use it.  If you say "cash", that can't be copyrighted.
