Does Prince h realize that Oprah is no different than Martin Bashir or any other reporter he's chastised for gossiping about the royals?
Is he so stupid that he thinks anyone cares to hear anything out of his mouth besides royal gossip? I'm sure Oprah will give him a few minutes to pontificate on climate change, but, Oprah can call a scientist with real credentials to do that.
What the bloody hell is wrong with him?

It's Meghan who is giving this interview, with Harry, apparently, appearing towards the end. 'What Meghan wants, Meghan gets'. And I can't see this being any more than we have already heard via books and other interviews.
It seems privacy = giving interviews to Oprah - of all people. And no, this isn't much different to his mother and Bashir. Or Andrew and Maitless.
ps It's a shame that unless HM issues some statement after the interview is aired, depending on what's actually said, the Palace won't be able to 'answer back' in any of this. I think people really should remember why Oprah targets the rich and famous to interview on her programme. This pair may not be paid for this interview, but Oprah's ratings will presumably go through the roof = MONEY!! And what now for the timing - Prince Philip has this morning been moved to a heart-specialist hospital in London.

Oprah is not the same as Martin Bashir, but she still is a journalist after ratings.
Harry and Meghan hope that Oprah will allow them to steer how the interview is carried out and edited.
I don't think that giving a tell-all interview is a wise move. It, in my opinion, is a poor decision, much like the decision that Diana made when granting the Panorama interview.

To have two very rich, beautiful, young, healthy people sitting on the telly moaning about how terrible their lives are - sorry. Get in the sea.

I'm no Oprah fan, but she's not a Bashir type. She abandoned the tabloid TV approach many years ago, in favor of what she considers to be uplifting and positive programming. This is a PR interview, to promote their brand. It's not intended to be scandal-mongering in the Bashir mode. If anyone or anything is going to be bashed, it will be British tabloid culture, not the royal family.
You really need to get over your bizarre obsession with the Sussexes. Therapy would help.

It was not possible to blow any more smoke up Michael Jackson's *** when she interviewed him, so nobody is expecting anything revelatory. You might say she puts the hag in hagiography.

There are many different trades within journalism. Oprah's speciality is to provide a platform for celebrities to advertise their commercial products - films, books, documentaries, etc. There is no pretence at asking difficult questions - it is almost entirely scripted by the guests' publicists.
The journalists Harry and Princess Meghan claim to hate are the gossip columnists - a vulgar breed of journalists who look for scandal and skew everything they write to fit an 'angle'.
In between the two, you have royal correspondents who don't exactly look for scandal but report it when others uncover it.
Martin Bashir is a different type of journalist again. Normally a political correspondent, he specialises in depth interviews based on extensive research in which he tries to get the subject to agree to a proposition that will damage them.
