Why would Republicans prefer to make it harder to vote than to change some of their positions to become more popular?

Republicans have to make it more difficult, or in some cases impossible, for Americans to vote because they know that the majority of Americans don't support their outdated ideology and their hate.

If Republicans become more open-minded, inclusive and forward-thinking, then they'll be Democrats.

Contrary to the view of the sheep-like Democrats, making it harder to vote is not necessarily a bad idea.

I always wanted to vote but they will not let me. Why does the fact that I am a UK citizen matter? Why am I being prevented from voting?

Shouldn't it be made more difficult to vote for people not entitled to vote?

Because if I gave away donuts, to everyone, they'd all take it,, but it's not something that's good for them.  Much like government handouts.   Republicans want to build a strong nation through individual effort and character.  That's what is good for people, but they like the donuts better.

Republicans only want to Know that the person who is voting is the person they claim to be.

Republicans would like clean voter lists. Removal of the Dead, the Moved away, the Felons, and other invalids.

    In the old days:

Democrats prefer to charge a fee to vote, "Voter Tax". Ended January 23, 1964

Democrats would like to know the person voting could read the ballot, and understand who is running. Ended, 1965.

Democrats liked the Voting Booths with Party Levers. Connecticut Sued Over Party Levers On Vote Machine May 19, 1964

Now Democrats, want instant voter registration along with Drivers Licenses.

Anyone to be a voter, just by claiming to someone on the registrars list.

Giving Ballots to everyone, to be filled out by whomever, and care who returns it.

No checking of signatures, to validate identity

    However, not worry about it.

Why would it be harder?  All you need is a valid ID.  I went in, showed my ID, then I voted.  Most people this last election didn't even have an ID to prove themselves and still voted.  Mail in votes were at an all time record high, which is also the most insecure way to vote.

If the Democrat push for less voter laws to make voting less secure, they would win every election.

This is the 3rd time I posted this:

Nothing the GOP suggests makes it harder. We absolutely need more election security. The following are some of the ideas being proposed. 1. Military to patrol voting stations, administer the vote, and tally the results. 2. Standardized poll times: 8am to 6pm and not an hour more. 3. No more mail in voting, except for the most extreme circumstances. 4. Voter ID required by all. No exceptions. 5. All votes must be totaled within 24 hours.

Because change isn’t in the conservative vocabulary. Conservatism literally means to fight changing themselves no matter what.
