Is my daughter overweight or am I just skinny?

i was asking about a week ago if im too skinny. i am 37 yrs old, 5'2 and 94 lbs,. i wrote my daughter probably weighs more than me. my daughter is 12 and 5'2 also, and 96 or 97 lbs. someone said my child was obese and that it was child abuse, instead of just answering my question about my weight. it got me wondering if my child is overweight? do you think thats big? her dr has never said anything.

Ah yes, that was me! And I still standby what I said: Your daughter is overweight. The healthy weight for a 20 year old woman is 105lbs, and so a girl 8 years younger shouldn't weigh anything near to that. 80 lbs for a 12 year old girl is more ideal.

I get it. You're probably from the US, where being overweight is the norm. So you probably want to deny it's unhealthy, or that your daughter is even overweight right? Thought so. In that case why am I even arguing with you... you're in so much denial, it's ridiculous.

You're both underweight.  Have you spoken to your doctor about getting diagnosed?  Whatever condition has caused you to be so underweight could have been inherited by your daughter.  It may be serious.  If she remains underweight to the degree you have during her puberty, she's looking at a lifetime of health issues.

She weights 2 pounds more than you? And that is obese? That doesn’t make sense. But ask her doc, there are published weight tables you can even look up.  Not all weight means fat by the way.
