Do call blocking house phones exist?

What I mean is. I want a phone that ONLY rings on the numbers I tell it to. I'm living with an elderly person with dementia. He keeps falling for scam calls. He's really caused a mess for himself recently. Also because these scammers have had success with him. They keep calling. He gets about ten calls an hour. And he falls for almost every one of them.  I need a phone that only rings when known numbers call. Does a land line phone like this exist? If so where can I buy one?

You can often arrange for the landline service provider to apply a filter which only allows approved numbers to call and which automatically rejects all withheld numbers.

Or you can buy a filter which is fitted to the landline between the phone and the socket.

I only provide that link as an example, not as any recommendation. There’s a number of similar products each with their own pros and cons. All require Caller Line Identification to be enabled, and many landline service providers charge extra for that service.

Yes - you basically put a filter on it with only approved numbers that can get through
