Of course.
I think the price of many therapeutic shoes and devices are horribly overpriced simply because they are prescribed, not because they cost more to manufacture.
After I got my cast off my broken ankle they made me wear a walking boot which was pretty much just a hunk of cheap plastic with some velcro straps and they charged me over $400 for it. I could have had a really nice pair of ski or hiking boots for that. But no, I got one leg of a Storm Trooper Halloween costume.
