Yes, it's called groveling, on Comisar's part. He did do a bit in prison and paid his debt to society.

It happens in almost every business, doesn't it?
It's just human nature to ask people you know through your career to give you a hand when things aren't going well for you.
Anyone can ask for help, but it's entirely up to each individual, whether they're actors, teachers, politicians or plumbers, whether or not they are able to, or wish to offer any assistance.

They can always ask. The others will decide for themselves what they will do.
