Why do Christians go to church on Sunday and continuously make excuses for not keeping the Sabbath?

Keep the sabbath holy is a very clear commandment

Update:

I understand the word was only given to Israel, so do this mean heathens can murder, steal etc etc and expect to go to heaven after they die?

There is nothing in the fourth commandment which states that Saturday is the only day on which one can attend religious services.

I keep sabbath, but I go to church on sundays.

Christians are not bound by the customs of Judaism. The early leaders of the original and true Christian Church changed the Christian day of worship to Sunday because they rightly believed it was more fitting to worship on the day of Jesus Christ's glorious Resurrection, than on the day He lay dead in the tomb.

Jews observe the Sabbath.  Christians obsevre the day of the Lord (Sunday).  Christ resurrected himself on a Sunday, and he met with his disciples on Sundays.  St. Paul wrote in Colossians, I believe, that we should not let anybody judge us concerning the sabbath days, meaning the day of our worship and observance.  It would not have been necessary had the ancient Christians worshiped on Saturdays.

It is equally clear that it was only given to the children of Israel.

The Sabbath was the sign of the old covenant; a covenant Christians are not a legal party to, and a covenant that ended. Why would Christians keep the sign of a covenant that no longer exists?

Sunday has absolutely nothing to do with the Sabbath, so why the comparison?  "Sunday observance" was established by the church in accordance with Christian Liberty, and the ability to now worship God in Spirit and in truth, unlike what was extant under the old covenant where time and location were dictated by the law.

Worship is not rest, and rest is not worship.  The Sabbath was a day of rest, and not worship. As such, you are using a "false dichotomy" with your question that is in fact a veiled accusation.

The Sabbath was a clear commandment for the Hebrews. So why are you taking what was commanded of the Hebrews, and transferring it to Christians?  Why don't you apply the same "logic" to circumcision then? After all, circumcision was more important than the Sabbath.

How do you know Christians don't keep the Sabbath day holy?  Are you God who is everywhere at once?  Do you know everyone's heart?  I don't think so Noreen.

You are responsible before God for worshiping Him and whether there is one particular day of the week you do that in a building called a 'church' - or not. And I am responsible before God for what (and when) I do that, my conscience being guided by Colossians 2:16 - "Do not let anyone judge you... with regard to a Sabbath day, a religious festival, or a New Moon. These are a shadow of the things that were to come. The reality, however, is found in Christ."

Please confirm your monthly keeping of New Moon commandments in the Mosaic Law. They are just as much a legal requirement for those under the old law covenant as weekly Sabbath day keeping. Does your group get the shofar out every New Moon and blow it and summons you all to that observance? No, I thought not.
