Only if the policy specifically excludes drug usage

Probably not. Depends on whether the policy says anything about drugs.

Drug use damaged her organs and was a contributing cause of her death, even if not the immediate cause.

Probably not.  You might be able to challenge it but not without spending a boatload of money.

Go check the terms of the policy.

First check the policy - does it say drugs are an exclusion.  If the policy doesn't address this, then drugs are not an issue.

If it does say drugs are an exclusion, then how do you know there were no drugs in her system at the time of her death?  If you have evidence, speak to whomever signed the death certificate.

Contest the death certificate results with the hospital.
