What animated videos did people upload before Newgrounds and YouTube?

    video on the internet was not quite as prevalent before these 2 websites. back then, there was no high speed internet, and 56k was not enough to stream anything higher than 120x90 in size (which i suppose you would call "90p", lol). blowing that up to fill the 800x600 monitors they had made video look blocky, so most of them were set up to just play in the browser, with no full screen option. also, this typically required either Quicktime or RealPlayer players to be installed by users, as embedded video was not available for some time. even YouTube & Newgrounds used Flash Player for video playback, until HTML5 came out in 2008.

    i remember before YouTube, they also had Shockwave Flash player, which allowed for users to interact with video clips. one in particular was "Frog in a Blender". my teenage mind had lots of fun with this technology >:]
