What speed would you want to compound and polish your car paint?
With a Maxshine M8S, it has a 6 speed that goes up to 6500 RPM. With that being said, what would be the best RPM range for compounding out severe swirl and scratch marks and what is the best RPM setting for polishing?

1600 rpm with a foam pad.

As slow as possible (think about how slow your hand moves if waxing a car by hand) and keep it moving over the surface so you don't burn the paint. You can always wax it by hand and then use the buffer to remove the wax. I've seen professional shops booger this up and have to repaint a car.

if ye be using a polisher that rotates...I am not really seeing you EVER GETTING OUT THE SWIRL MARKS caused by a rotating buffer. Maybe explain YOUR LOGIC?
