What are some advantages & disadvantages of owning a credit card?

These days, a Credit history is a MUST. So a card is needed. BUT, there is also the temptation to Use it way too frequently, and go into debt. 

But whether or not you use it, you Have to monitor your credit and the balance. For example, my wife was in NYC one day-someone used a card reader(that no longer requires actual contact with the card) to steal her number. By the time she got home that night, someone had charged $40,000 of electronics on her card. 

fraud is a lot easier to deal with
