Question for women who had babies mid 30s?

Did you feel too old to be having a kid? I'm 37 and 5 months with my first and likely last. The pregnancy is going as it should and while I am excited theres also feelings of being too old. I feel like i will be seen as the old parent. When my kid is 5, i'll be in my 40s, while other parents of 5 year olds will be in their 20s. I know its stupid to compare but wondering if others had the same thoughts

I had my last child when I was 42.  No, I did not feel too old to be having a kid.  I'm 48 now and he turns 6 tomorrow. I have far more energy with him than I did with my first, born when I was 24.

I honestly don't know the ages of the other parents at school, nor do I care. They don't seem to care, either.  Besides, what's the point of worrying?  You can't change your age or the ages of the parents around you.  Even if someone judged you on your age, it would reflect on them, not you.  But 37 is a totally normal age to be having a child, and there will be PLENTY of other parents right in your age range when your kid starts school.

I had my first at 32 and my second at 37, and little one is about to turn 3. Yes, I feel old. Not in comparison to other parents since most people we associate with also started their families a little later, but my toddler is VERY high energy and I've never been a high-energy person in general, so she's a handful. I'm just glad she didn't happen any later than she did, and we are definitely not having any more kids. My body has been through enough.

Mid 30s is a pretty standard time. You're not a young parent but certainly not old.

I was 32 and the 2nd oldest in my mother's group. The oldest was 39. It's just a few years difference and nothing to stress about. You're not too old. Just be excited and don't overthink it.
