    Plan a head .and make sure you do a garage sale. before you move .

    When I last moved we used a pro removal company.  They were really good. Much better value for money than the solicitor or realtor (estate agent).

    ps make sure you can get bedroom stuff into the house promptly (if you do the removal yourself) because you don't want to be dog-tired at 11pm with nowhere to crash-out.

    Don't do it all at once, spread it out over a long time.  Pay someone else if you can, or simply tackle it yourself, a little bit each day.

    pack up all nonessentials days before and SUCCINTLY LABEL THEM! on the day of the move, get up early, do your hygiene routine, dress and eat. then pack up those things. then all the movers have to do is load all the boxes. they get paid by the hour, so the less they have to do, the quicker they can get the job done.
