I think it's silly word, invented to disparge liberals........calling them WOKE and mocking them for it.
Republicans seem to love tossing it about, like it's a cuss word .

Depends on how it is used. If you say, "I just woke up", then okay. But sometimes it is better to use the form "awakened".

I neither like nor dislike it. I don't harbor personal feelings about terms unless they are innately offensive and sometimes not even then, like many common swear words don't evoke any emotional reaction in me even though they are innately offensive. Terms I dislike include those that are pejorative labels used prejudicially to disparage and oppress others.

It used to refer to a certain degree of spiritual discernment and moral sensitivity.
Now it seems to be more about successfully walking the eggshell minefield of the Politically Correct Notion of the Day without getting cancel-cultured for something you may have uttered as a teenager.

No. It's stupid. So stupid. Kids aren't "woke" enough to use proper English, that's for sure. I'm AWARE and OBSERVANT and COMPASSIONATE. Not "woke."
