Is it hypocritical for cons to complain about the cost of Biden's stimulus package?

Under trump, " the national debt has grown to about $27.7 trillion. That's an increase of 39.2 percent".  You weren't complaining about the deficit a year ago, why now?

Yes, it is very hypocritical for conservatives to care about the debt when Democrats are in control but don't want it to be an obstacle when Republicans are in control.

Conservatives ignore [hide?] the cold, hard facts of Federal Spending and the explosion of the national debt during the Trump Administration.

    Sorda.

You are right that when Trump was president he added like $1.9 trilltion to the national debt.  Biden did the same thing.

However, the debt was lower back then than it is now.  Maybe the debt wasn't too high back then as it is now.

Someone might think spending $16 on something one day is okay and the maximum amount of money they should spend that day is $17.  That's they wouldn't spend more than $1 more on something that day even though $16 is more than $1.

I know some Republicans are equal to Democrats in wanting to fund boondoggles and big donors instead of helping the American people.  But that isn't what Trump wanted, or even most of the Republicans.

Under Trump, the money was being spent on important things like securing the border against a Mexican invasion and keeping filthy Muslims trapped in their terrorist deserts where they'll kill each other, instead of God's Country! Trump increased military spending and strengthened our nuclear arsenal! His spending put us back on top!

Biden, on the other hand, is buying votes with freebies and handouts. He capitulates to enemy nations by signing the Paris economy destroyer and destroyed billions of jobs by demolishing the oil pipelines! As for the military,  all Biden did got them was mandate that they have to pay for genital mutilations for depraved "people" who ought to just be shot.  Oh and he also outlawed Mr Potato Head and Dr Seuss.

Big difference between ther two,  but can't expect a libtard to get facts right!

Republicans ONLY care about the deficits when democrats are in the White House! It's just another wedge issue to divide the people!

A year ago we were in the depth of a pandemic and our economy was shut down, leading to a significant shortfall in revenues, even as spending increased significantly to deal with the pandemic and the shutdowns.

As it turns out, the shutdowns were unnecessary, and the best solution at this point would be to open up the economy and schools fully.

Failure to do that is keeping unemployment high, revenue low and spending high.

After all, it is Democrats and Democrat institutions which are standing in the way of reopening the economy and schools.
