Meet up should really be called misfits?

I've been reflecting on the past few years in current lockdown and wanted to warn people about Meet up. I had returned back to the UK after being in the United States for 10 years. I was alone as a lot of my friends had moved on and were in relationships/married. I found meet up and thought it sounded like a great way to make friends. But literally the quality of people that you meet are the misfits of society. And I'm not being disrespectful. With the current situation in London if you read the newspapers, it's even more important for women to be careful about joining groups that are not vetted, meeting up with strangers, exchanging contact details et cetera. I am actually having flashbacks of some of the situations that could've escalated. Please think twice about joining groups with complete strangers. If you have to go please go with somebody that you know and trust, definitely do not go alone. Also be really careful about sharing details of your life or sharing contact details such as phone number. I also want to say that other than passing time you're not going to meet anybody worthwhile on meet up. A lot of these people have mental health problems/social anxiety et cetera. many people think that they can offload their problems on you or ask inappropriate questions. You just don't know who they are. organisers can't really be held responsible because they're getting paid so little for it, if indeed they are.  I hope this helps someone.
