Biden and the pipeline?

He is already being called out by 21 states for trying to put people out of work and increasing the welfare rolls. Do you agree with him?

The Keystone Pipeline has/had a number of serious problems.  So far, I've never heard a Republican address those problems.  All they say is 'We need it for the jobs!'  Which is a pretty dumb argument.

The thing is, we don't need it for ENERGY.  We are not desperate for expensive, environmentally toxic alternative forms of fossil fuel energy.  We  have a GLUT of energy at the moment.  And the bitumen that the pipeline would carry wasn't for us anyway!  The pipeline goes from Canada to the port of New Orleans, where the bitumen will be loaded onto tankers.  We aren't even refining it here!

Why not put those people to work maintaining our national parks?  Or on the long-neglected infrastructure that every president promises to address?  There are so many other things we could put people to work on than a pipeline that's unnecessary and poses a serious environmental risk.

I would prefer that there were no huge pipeline leaking poison ... even occasionally...into the water systems that so many people and animals rely on for life.

I would PREFER to not have a huge tax bill in 15 years for the clean up of said spills and compensating people for medical problems caused.

Can't we find a different industry to employ those people safely?

The pipeline only benefited a few ultra rich investors. It was detrimental in some way to almost all of us. It should have never been allowed to start.

There are many more jobs in renewable energy.

Biden's just posturing for progressives.  The pipeline company will sue the government for all the work to date and undoubtedly win.

No its the crooked corrupt Republicans running around making it hard to fix this country. No fixing the massive erosion they themselves created. They want America to fail. They know they have no chance with their own voters so they want America dead.

That's hilarious.  You say Biden has been "called out"

Translation:  Republicans who think COVID and global warming are fake are whining to fox news about Biden's plans for a pipeline and they think that has scored them some sort of victory.  As if complaining were useful. Also republicans are now spreading the Rumor that Biden controls how many people are "on the welfare rolls".  I'll bet they can't explain why trump didn't do anything about the "welfare rolls" when he was president.  He probably thought they were pizza and ate them. Also David is correct.  All the things that Trump did for spite and no other reason, Biden is trying to undo them.  Good for Biden.

21 states are big cry babies. Those are temporary jobs. Trump left office with record high unemployment, and a lot of those jobs were lost because of his disastrous tariff.

Biden is just undoing everything Trump wanted for spite.

Oh well, then, he must be wrong.
