I watch a lot of British TV shows, and it's clear that what British high schools let students do in some regards, like in attendance and swearing and addressing teachers by the first name, American high schools are much more strict about. But in other areas, like making kids wear school uniforms, British high school are way more strict than American high schools and American high school students would absolutely lose their minds and scream their First Amendment rights are being horrendously violated if they were made to wear what British high school kids are made to wear to school. So I don't think one has more rights than the other, just different rights, more in some areas and less in others and vice versa.
