Why don’t criminals obey police commands where they have been caught ?

Criminals by and large in a word are MORONS.

Even more so when they're been drinking or doing drugs.

Yeah.  That is a great question because most of us feel this way too.  Perhaps their parents never taught them this...............who knows.............  If they'd just do what they are asked to do - then there would be no problems.

If you are a criminal, you are already pre-disposed to not follow the rules and not to respect the law.

Dont know really. Sounds like what happens in the movies. In real like they  just get shot.

Because they want to try and get away.

One word, 'drugs.' Maybe two, 'drugs' and 'alcohol.'

In nearly every case, (even the 'famous' recent ones), all the people resisting arrest and getting shot or choked out were either high, drunk or both.   

Those getting choked continued to resist even after physically detained using one of the only effective techniques cops have for keeping the suspect's mouth and nose away from their own when they are spitting blood, clearly ill, biting, etc...With COVID-19, their options were limited. 

It was basically certain to happen at some point with people out committing crimes during a pandemic. Cops are getting a bad rap for it. GOD bless them for being out there risking their lives for us. 

I think a lot of them do.

I think some people have a hard time thinking straight when they are under stress.

I think some people are just belligerent, and think that they can do what they want. 

Good question.  Resisting arrest, fighting back, being belligerent never ends well.  The smart ones do follow orders.
