What would happen if a school opened on snow day?

Chaos? Indoor recesses? Watching a movie?

It depends.

Where I live, the problem is that the streets aren't cleared off and there would be accidents on the way to school. Where I grew up, there had to be 12 inches of snow on the ground for school to be called off. That's because the buses couldn't get through safely. Where I live now, it only takes a very light layer of snow- because we have no snow plows, no one has snow tires, and no one knows how to drive in the snow.

But snow days seem to be a thing of the past because of virtual learning.
