What's this green button for?

So my father in law bought a Peugeot partner that's converted into a disabled vehicle and it came with this green button with the letter P on it, it doesn't do anything obvious when you press it and it's nothing to do with the parking sensors, any ideas?

MAYBE THIS:  One source says a green "P"  is  parking assist - it's to blink as you get closer to a curb - - - which would make sense in a disability equipped vehicle.

It could be the button to manually unlock the shifter when it is stuck in Park,  An owner;s manual for the car will help.  It looks like the button came with the car from the factory.
