The fact your husband has a twin makes no difference, but if there is a genetic tendency toward hyperovulation in your maternal line, it might increase your chances of having fraternal twins. 

Believe me, you don't want twins.

Identical twins is caused by the single egg and sperm splitting.  There is nothing about being a twin or twins running in a family that increases the chances of identical twins.  It is more of a random accident.  

Fraternal twins is usually caused by the woman releasing more than one egg and both eggs successfully fertilize and implant.  The man's sperm has NO IMPACT on the likely hood of fathering twins.  There is nothing his sperm can do to cause two eggs.  Twins on the father's side of the family means nothing toward the chances of his wife having twins.  So, what matters is sets of twins on YOUR side of the family because that MIGHT indicate that women in your family MIGHT release two eggs often enough at ovulation to make twins a possibility.Your husband being a twin does not increase YOUR chances of birthing twins - BUT - if you have a daughter with him - then the genetics for having twins can pass to the daughter from either one of you.  MEN CAN pass the genetic trait to their daughters - BUT a man being a twin would NOT increase HIS chance of fathering twins.  My husband has a brother and sister that are twins.  The sister never had twins and so far, none of her daughters have had twins.  The brother also never had twins - BUT - his DAUGHTER does have a set of twin boys.  (In my husband's family, several of the women have had twins or even triplets without fertility programs.  One of his aunts has two sets of twins and one set of triplets.  She always give birth to more than one at a time.)

Twins seems to have better odds of getting twins.  Families that have twins in the family line also have an increase odds of getting twins.
