What is a good way to keep squirrels and raccoons from invading my garden?
The warm weather is starting. I want to start planting my garden. Past years I had problems with squirrels and raccoons eating the things I grow. What is a good way to keep these pests out? I dont want to use chemicals which can be harmful to them as well as my plants.

Squirrels and raccoons are innovated, cleaver, determined little critters. Unless you enclose your entire garden, they will figure a way in.
What do they eat? I have had birds and rabbits eat my berries and veggies, but not squirrels or raccoons.

a small caliber rifle worked for our family when we lived in the country. The squirrels are good fried and the rabbits are good fried or BBQed on the grill or cooked in a stew made with the vegetables in the garden that you protected from the animals.
The **** skins used to be a saleable item but not sure anymore, its been many decades since I lived on a farm. during the great depression our parents nd grandparents often had to rely on even the coons for meat, thankfully I never had to try any.

Rachel, considering your reply to William, you should save your time and effort and shop your local grocery store.

William, you must be an American. Guns aren't the answer to everything. Besides, I was hoping to get a more thoughtful answer. Something that requires you to use your brain. You answer sound like something coming from a neanderthal.
