Why does the UK still have a class system ?

Whereas the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand don't. Although its not downtown abbey, but there seems to be huge extremes between the poor and the wealthy including the royal family. Also the cycle of poverty throughout the UK was just an eyesore

    The USA certainly has a class system but it is determined by money although grand old families do have their ranking system as in:

    And this is good old Boston,

    The home of the bean and the cod,

    Where the Lowells talk to the Cabots,

    And the Cabots talk only to God.The UK, even with its class system, has better conditions for the poor and far fewer homeless than the USA. At least everyone in Britain gets free health care and education.

    Fact; there are half a million homeless in USA, while others earn megabucks.
