if Chicago has the strictest gun laws in America, why does it have the most shootings?

Because the voices in your head say so. Based on this forum, you might think that, with the exception of the occasional mass shooting, gun violence only happens in Chicago. Trolls on here always seem to have up to date figures on Chicago gun violence, but post zip on Atlanta Georgia, Indianapolis Indiana, or Springfield Missouri, etc.

Chicago is a transportation hub, so a lot of drugs pass through. That also brings in a lot of bad guys who fight over the drug trade. And Chicago doesn't have the strictest gun laws in the country. Even if that was true, it would have little effect, because areas around it have ineffectual gun laws, so people just bring them in from red states like Indiana. Do a web search on "gun shop merrillville indiana" for more info.

I'm no expert but all your gun laws seem to be just one big waste of time. I don't think the ghetto rats committing all the gun crimes get their guns by applying for pistol permits. Again ... I'm no expert but I'd guess that most of these guns are illegally obtained. And I'm going to go out on a limb here but I'm guessing that they are not following the rules when it pertains to how many bullets your clip can have in it. Just a common sense opinion.

Because without laws to cover the entire country, guns can keep making their way into any area from areas with no controls.

What good are laws when people don’t respect them and others don’t punish those who break them???  Libs don’t think laws apply to them, and are soft on crime. Some new “democrats” want to get rid of prisons altogether. So  You have your answer.  Dems don’t want to stop crime, they want to disarm those who might stand up against their quest to destroy our constitution and country.  Think about it, IF they wanted to stop crime, they wouldn’t allow all of the violent riots to occur, nor would they scramble to pay their bail and legal fees when caught. 

Because people use guns to kill other people. Guns are just effective. There are laws against people driving drunk, for instance, yet they aren't trying to outlaw cars. And they still drive drunk even though there are laws against it. The reason why Democrats try to outlaw guns is so they can take what you have without you being able to defend what you have. The Democrats did the same thing when they tried to make it illegal for former slaves, freed men, and African Americans to have guns. There is a history of Democrat gun laws.
