Where can you legally place flyers ? ?

From my understanding is public property is fine to post flyers such as a bus stop, side of a garbage can , side of a port o potty etc. long as it’s not damaging it would be fine I’d think? Telephone poles are off limits legally but o see them covered often . Any other suggestions on where to distribute flyers legally

you understand wrong, you cannot put flyers on any public property unless it is a bulletin board for such flyers.

Your understanding is wrong. You need permission from the property owner. Just because you might get away with posting stuff in some places, that doesn’t make it right or legal.

You need to look at your local regulations.  In most cases posting on "Public" Property isn't allowed and could be seen as defacing public property.  If there is anything identifiable on your flyer or you are seen doing it you could have issues.  Likely it would be a ticket, but if you did this enough places it may be an actual misdemeanor.

You can post on someone's private property with their permission.  This includes putting flyers on cars in the parking lot of a business.

It's not fine on bus stops, just because it might get ignored doesn't make it fine. You can post them on your own house, or someone else's with permission. Public property doesn't mean it's yours, it means it is for yours and the public's use but using it incorrectly like sticking posters to it is not fine. The deed is with your local government, they are the legal owners.
