What kind of moron uses WhatsApp to call in sick and then goes "oh well, not my problem" when they don't get a response?
It's your responsibility to make sure someone actually knows you're not coming. This means you continue contacting until you get a response.
There's a reason people have PHONES. They're very useful when you want to CALL IN SICK. You dial your boss or the office, they pick up on their end, and then you can have a conversation in real time. Ever heard of this?
