How do I fix Compressed (zipped) folder, HELPPP?

I'm trying to unzip a file that my worker has sent me and all I see is a blank white sheet of paper and every time I double click it I cannot go into the file, I get this message saying "This app cannot run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher." And it's not letting my bypass anything. I tried to go to the folder in the windows C: Disk and look up information, nothing is helping, I also tried looking for the right zip file to download they are all not free and most of them or used. I don't know what to do and I cannot view my files and these are really important. What is the easiest way to fix this, also does anyone know how I can unzip from kodi or change this back the way it was to Compressed (zipped) folder. Nothing is working???
