I'm very fond of the "Law & Order" series, but also watch C-SPAN whenever the Supreme Court has audio on a case appearing before SCOTUS.  Since most prisons depict themselves as "correctional centers" with the stated purpose of convincing inmates to make better choices in life, I find some of the conditions that undermine this goal are woven into scripts for shows like "Law & Order"---like rape and abuse of slow-minded or handicapped inmates, both of which spoken of as though it is an ACCEPTED "norm".  I find this abhorrent and in need of immediate reforms. Police interrogators on TV cop shows who tell their male suspect "You'll be bending over grabbing your ankles at Riker's" to coerce a fear-driven confession" are perpetuating the problem by making light of it.  I find this offensive.

TV is not reality even when they tell you it is. This is the issue with many today, they simply swallow the BS and can't actually think for themselves!
