What Border Collie Dog Training - Preventing Bad Behaviors?

Don't even think about getting a Border Collie if you have to ask this question. 

They MUST have absolutely loads of mental and physical stimulation and this is why they are used as a true working dog in the fields with sheep,  or if kept as pets,  then plenty of obedience,  agility,  working trials and anything else to keep the dogs metabolism and intelligence satisfied. 

A bored Border Collie is absolutely the very worst dog to have around.

This sounds like a child or troll's question.  Border Collies are normally THE TOP obedience breed, but as a smart and HIGH energy breed, are not easy to own (as a pet) since this is largely a working breed.  Border Collies do not require specialized or breed specific obedience training (if you are not planning for them to herd livestock).   But ALL DOGS require obedience training and basic house manners, if they are to be good pets.  Contact a private dog trainer or your local dog training club, to start training classes.  Specific problems can be addressed by the trainers, in either case - if you ASK.

Yes, that's why dogs are trained.  To prevent bad behaviors.

You need to be more specific about what behaviors are bad.  There isn't any one thing to stop all bad dog behaviors.  You work on one bad behavior & then you work on another bad behavior.  You can put the dog through Basic Obedience Training to train the dog in the 7 most used commands.  After this training you will have an obedient dog.

Border Collies are the smartest of all breeds & they learn rather fast.

Get rid of it. It's not your offspring. You are a human and not a dog. You'll never understand each other.
