Can eating soap hurt you?

This sounds random, but this kid in my PE class was drinking soap water for football because he said it would, and I quote, "Make my veins clean." Help me prove him wrong! (Just to clarify, he had enough soap in the water to make it foam. Not much, but a substantial amount.)

I think you want to move this question to health, but my answer is that the acid in your stomach chemically changes the soap into something else anyway. Soap is a base (alkaline) and acids would neutralize it. It's like when you mix vinegar and baking soda. So now you have another substance altogether. But you could conceivably inject soap into your veins by means of a needle. This would bypass the acids in your stomach. If this had any medical benefit, doctors would be doing it! Obviously they aren't. Maybe you shouldn't mention that docs don't hook people up to a soap IV, though, because the next thing  you know he will kill himself by shooting up with soap!

NO!.  his digestive system won't like that.  and it'll do zero for his blood system.  fortunately, the most likely result is that he'll get sick
