Does a diagnosis of asthma; put the individual at higher risk for contracting the Covid-19 virus and its variants; or is it irrelevant?

According to my local health department any pre-existing condition puts you at higher risk of covid, probably even a stubbed toe.  Their list of conditions is about 400 pages long and I'm sure that asthma is near the top.

According to the American Association of Allergy Asthma and Immunology, having asthma does not place you at higher risk of getting covid or having covid complications.

- In fact, some treatment for covid was discovered because asthmatics were having less illness progression than other people.

Covid illness progression is based on your body's inflammation and inflammation reaction.

- Studies show that people with sufficient levels of vitamin D are much less likely to get covid and less likely to have covid complications if they do.

If you are interested in getting vaccinated, we have no idea where you are located.  In some states, anyone can get it.  In other states there is a pecking order and you may or may not qualify.

Not a higher risk of getting it but more problems with your lungs if you do.
