What are some fun kid-friendly places to visit in San Antonio? Can you also list some hotels near those places? ?

I'm not sure why "Artemisc" would say there are no theme parks.

    - Six Flags Fiesta TX

    - Seaworld San Antonio (full theme park with roller coasters etc)

    - Kiddie Park (adjacent to SA Zoo, geared for younger kids)

    - Morgans Wonderland

    - Splashtown San Antonio

There are also a variety of museums in or near San Antonio:

    -San Antonio Zoo

    - Guinness Book of World Records Museum

    - the DoSeum (Hands on science museum geared for kids)

In Fredricksberg (about an hour from San Antonio) you'll find the Museum of the Pacific War and the Pioneer Museum.

In Corpus Christi (about 2.5 hours south) the USS Lexington is permanently moored in the harbor and converted to a museum. It was a WW2 aircraft carrier.

There are also a ton of parks and smaller attractions too numerous to name.

I've been there numerous times on business trips.  I never really thought about it from the family vacation perspective.  It's great for adults, live music, great food, bars, and the downtown/Riverwalk area is very walkable.  After the first time I went, I stopped bothering with getting a car, took an Uber from the airport, and walked every where else.

I guess if the kid is artsy, or into history, there are great museums, and art exhibits.  But your standard, action-packed family fun things?  Like water parks, etc?  Not so much.   Maybe there are and I never noticed as they don't interest me.  IT's a tough call.  Not every city is suitable for kids.
